Angerer and Hero fight in Tokyo

Next Sunday another piece of German Shooto history will be written in Japan. At the big anniversary tour of Shooto for the 30th anniversary of the organization will be for the first time a German shooter in the main event and also for the first time a German fighter will fight for the vacant title in Shooto.

Tanja Angerer fights in a 8 women tournament for the champion title in the Super Atom weight -50 kg and meets here in the first fight against a real great from Japan. Mina Kurobe (13-5-0) is the champion of Japan's premium women's MMA label "Jewels" the toughest draw that the Vilshoferin Angerer could get in the first fight - and therefore exactly to the taste of the ambitious fighter of the GTT. Angerer, who herself has already been in the ring twice at "Jewels" and is no longer an unknown in Japan, has recommended herself for a professional fight in Shooto with a victory at "SHOOTO KINGS" last May and is considered one of the favorites in this field of participants along with Kurobe.

Reutlingen's Markus Held, the reigning German professional champion of Shooto in the featherweight division, gets it even tougher. In the main event of the event he meets the Japanese MMA legend Caol Uno (33-20-5), who brings an immense advantage in experience into the match. Yet this was exactly the opponent Held wanted after his loss to reigning world champion Saito this January. Held knows he can fight his way into the world's top ten with a strong performance against Uno and will do everything he can to bring victory to Germany.

2019 has been an extremely successful year for Shooto in Germany so far. The performance of the amateurs at this year's European Championships and the victory at the All Japan Shooto Championships last month by Christina Brauchle in Odawara brings more and more German shooters to the land of the rising sun.

Already in two weeks interested fighters can again at the Shooto "Rookies compete and thus qualify for the upcoming regional, national and European championships.
