Unfortunately, the coronavirus is currently dominating public life in many places. So is also Shooto Germany now affected by the effects of the coronavirus and forced to act. In order not to encourage further spread of the virus and to fulfill our responsibility to the community says the German Top Team and Shooto Germany for the time being all competitions until the end of April 2020.
Shooto Contenders and German Championships
This currently affects two events. Both "Contenders XXXI" on 28.03., as well as the German Amateur Shooto Championships scheduled for 12.04., will not take place as planned. At this time it would be foolhardy to present alternative dates, which would then possibly also have to be canceled. We will wait for the development of the next six weeks and during this time already look for solutions and alternatives with the Orga team. However, we do not want to indulge in speculation, but rather present facts and fixed dates, which is simply not possible at this point in time.
Shooto European Championships and Shooto Kings
Likewise, the events "Shooto European Championships 2020" and "Shooto Kings IX - Kunoichi", which are scheduled for May 16, 2020 in the Wittumhalle in Reutlingen, are in limbo. As of today, events with more than 200 people are no longer approved in Reutlingen. In a phone call yesterday with the city of Reutlingen, we were told that we will be informed in mid-April whether the events can take place as planned in the Wittumhalle or not. Of course, we will do our best to inform you promptly about the current state of affairs.
ADCC German Open Championships
The meetings scheduled for July 25 ADCC German Open Championships will take place as planned so far. However, the world federation has already reacted and excluded athletes from China, Iran, South Korea and Italy from all ADCC competitions. The ADCC events in Moldova, Serbia, Finland and Poland have already been postponed, as no competitions will be held by ADCC in Europe in March and April.
We ask all affected athletes and teams for their understanding and hope for your support in the current situation. Please stay calm, healthy and take care of yourselves and your families!
